Keeping tulips fresh in Bali’s climate

Tulips are a little theatrical — they keep growing and bending towards the light even after they’re cut, which is part of their charm. To help them last in the island heat, keep them somewhere cool and out of direct sun, give them plenty of fresh, cold water and refresh it daily, and trim the stems straight every couple of days. A shorter, snug vase helps support those tall stems. Kept well, tulips will happily open and dance for around five to seven days.
